Ozy and Millie

Heard of it?
...
No?
Neither had I until the other day. I happened upon it while looking for things to read. (All my other interests hadn't updated yet.) Upon finding this comic, I started from the beginning, and in 3 days I have read the entire archive. This comic started in 1998, by the way, and is still going strong.

I found Ozy and Millie intriguing in that it looks like it's made for the newspaper comic section, but it doesn't pander to kids. At least, not all the time. The comic deals in Zen, politics, philosophy, and everyday life. It deals alot with child-like (and sometime childish) humor as well, to break up the serious parts; kinda like Calvin and Hobbes. It's worth a read, I promise.

I'll leave you to it. I'd link some of my fave strips, but you'd most likely just follow those and not read the rest. I'll let you discover what made this comic so good to me.

And for those that are still a bit slow: If you're looking for a link, try clicking the post title. (Again with the Orange vs. Black. Last time I'm going to say it. Important links will be put in the title. If you think I'm patronizing you, then this probably doesn't apply to you.)

I'm out.

Ergo Proxy

I've been watching Ergo Proxy recently since it's been sitting on my harddrive.
The series is good. No question. My favorite part however is the opening theme, which I will now provide for you. YouTube FTW! (that's 'For the Win' for all you non-acronym speakers.) I will also provide lyrics. I was going to use the chorus in a quote, but that wouldn't do this wonderful song justice.

The song is called 'Kiri', by MONORAL. (Yes, the band name is in all caps.)
These are the lyrics for the TV version: (video shown below.)
You complete my fate. The world unwinds inside of me.
You complete my fate. The halo crawls away.
You refill my place. You refill my place.
Come and save me....
Come and save me....
Come and save me....(Believe in me and drink the wine and take my hand and fill me up)
Come and save me....(Believe in me and drink the wine and take my hand and fill me up)
Come and save me.

The lyrics for the entire song don't really change much.
You complete my fate, The world unwinds inside of me
You complete my fate, The halo crawls away
You repeat my fate, Rewinding all we can
You refill my place.
You refill my place... place...
Come and save me...
Come and save me...
Come and save me.

You complete my fate, The heavens stroll inside of me
You repeat my fate, Revealing who we are
You refill my place.
You refill my place... place...
Come and save me...
Come and save me...
Come and save me... (Believe in me and drink the wine and take my hand and fill me up)
Come and save me... (Believe in me and drink the wine and take my hand and fill me up)
Come and save me.
(Believe in me and drink the wine and take my hand and fill me up)
(Believe in me and drink the wine and take my hand and let me follow.)

God, it's gorgeous.

UUWAAAAGH! Doppleganger!

I love Sealab 2021, and I died laughing when I found this. Hearing Murphy scream is priceless.
On with the show.

Ah, Oblivion

So, I decided to put FFXI down for a few days to pick Oblivion back up. After some tweaking and general hit and miss, I config'd it to work on my system with minimal lag and without looking like stick figures. I need to upgrade my system. (Make checks payable to me.) In case you're wondering about my system: I bought my computer back in 2001, and if you want to know the specs: look at the minimum requirements for Oblivion and there's your answer. I have the EXACT minimum specs required to play.

Anyways, the reason I play Oblivion in the first place is because I love the Elder Scrolls series and secondly, I love that Bethesda doesn't punish you for modding the game. Oh, no. They encourage it. I only have a few mods on mine, such as Cloud's Tsurugi from Advent Children (Splits up into the individual swords as well. It's Uber-sweet.), Kadaj's Souba (the dual bladed katana), and Sephiroth's Masamune to name a few. I also have a mod pack that gives me a shitload of samurai gear, just because I love samurais. I've been having alot of fun in Tamriel. So, no FF posts for a while, at least until I get Oblivion out of my system.

Just thought I'd let you know. And knowing is half the battle.

I am Batman.

You are Batman. Midnight is your noon. You sweep from the rooftops, bringing your brand of vigilante justice to the dark city streets. Unfortunately, you're not quite a ninja. Sorry.
